Reflections of Fidel:

TUESDAY, March 18 marked the fifth anniversary of the arrest of more than 70 quislings, the capos of imperialism's fifth column in Cuba who, paid by the U.S. government, violate the laws of the land and share the opinion that this dark corner of the world should be swept off the map. On that date, a Department of State spokesperson described the event as the “Black Spring”, a term with racist overtones. We could call it “White Spring.” Darkness does not exist in space, only in the mind. What a huge difference between the methods used by the government of the United States and those used by Cuba! Not one of the mercenaries was tortured or deprived of lawyers or trial, even if it was of a summary nature, provided by the law in cases of danger of aggression; they have the right to receive visits, access to family facilities as well as the other legal prerogatives of all prisoners; and if at any time their health seriously requires it, they are released, without the demands of imperialism and its allies having anything at all to do with it. We urge the United States to do with its prison population as we have done here in Cuba. The Revolution demands respect for sovereignty, not pardon.

With Wednesday, March 19 being the fifth anniversary of the stupid war unleashed in Iraq, Bush is grabbing hold of any Bin Laden declaration, either fictitious or real, even though in the case of the latter no date is supplied as to when it was made, nor can they assure us that it is his voice. They will investigate it, so they promise. Nobody ever took so much advantage of such materials to shape the opinions of the citizens of the United States and of many other countries in the world with similar cultures and beliefs, in order to justify the brutal and genocidal wars that imperialism needs so much. Time and time again he formulates and repeats selected words and phrases. The people and institutions referred to, without exception, find themselves obliged to respond, whether the declarations are true or not. Just observe how, year after year, from day one, Bush keeps on milking the events of September 11.

From the Bucharest conference, Bush will move on to that of NATO, and from there he will pole vault over to Croatia, which had disputes with Serbia, and whose president was tried and convicted by the International Criminal Court for the Kosovo affair. Did he really die a natural death in prison? What kind of peace will be attained from those strange twists and turns?

Swedish Hans Blix, who headed the UN inspectors team that diligently searched for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and who shares many of the ideas and lies of the empire's sinister philosophy, wrote the following on the occasion of the fifth anniversary: “The invasion of Iraq in 2003 was a tragedy for Iraq, for the United States, for the UN, for truth and human dignity. They could not succeed in eliminating WMDs because they did not exist. Nor could they succeed in the declared objective of aim eliminating al-Qaeda members, because they were not in Iraq. They came later, attracted by the attackers.”

The Association of Muslim Ulemas, the supreme religious Sunni authority in Iraq, made the following statement on the occasion of the fifth anniversary: “The occupier has entered our lands by force and he is not going to leave unless we use force. Any call made by politicians who acquiesce to working under the umbrella of occupation should be considered an invitation to surrender and capitulation. The occupation forces have turned Iraq into the world’s most dangerous zone. The era of occupation will soon end.”

Without giving himself a chance to recover from his exhausting meeting in Afghanistan with Karza, U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney had talks yesterday, Friday, and today, Saturday, with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, in order to secure his cooperation and that of the OPEP over oil supplies and to pay with devaluated dollars. In truth, there can be no war without oil, nor oil without war.

In the Latin American scenario, the Ecuadorian high command stated that the bombs used in the attack on Raúl Reyes’ camp were GBU-2/B Paveways, weighing more than 500 pounds, and with exact targeting precision thanks to advanced technology. There were 10 such bombs and they left craters 2.80 meters in diameter and 1.80 meters in depth.

In Western Europe, Sarkozy, whose honeymoon with the French electorate ended a few days ago, was impatiently awaiting McCain and his entourage of pro-Israeli Republican senators. McCain urged him to join the NATO mechanisms, defended the Iraq war and forcefully lambasted China. Meanwhile, Hillary and Obama are bleeding from attacks from the right, the left and the center. There is nothing more resembling a lunatic asylum. The candidates for the presidency of the United States are discussing certain war vs. probable war.

Today, Bush’s radio broadcast coincides with Easter. What is he thinking? A message that, although brief, needs quite a few paragraphs or phrases to catch his drift:

“This is the most important holiday in the Christian faith. And during this special and holy time, every year millions of Americans pause to remember a sacrifice that transcended the grave and redeemed the world.

“Easter beckons us homeward. This [...] is an occasion to reflect on the things that matter most in life: the love of family, the laughter of friends, and the peace that comes from being in the place you call home..."

“America is blessed with the world’s greatest military, made up of men and women who fulfill their responsibilities…”

“At Easter, we remember especially those who have given their lives for the cause of freedom. These […] have lived out the words of the Gospel: ‘Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend’…”

“Every year, millions of Americans take time to feed the hungry and clothe the needy and care for the widow and the orphan…millions across the world remember the gift that took away death’s sting and opened the door to eternal life…”

“Thank you for listening.”

Bush imagines that God will reward him for accelerating the day of the Apocalypse and the Final Judgment, after which he will seat him at His right, in a place of honor. Then perhaps he will abandon the odious gestures that accompany his speeches, so that he can dwell under the same roof as those souls of the human beings he exterminated in his war on terrorism, the great majority of them girls and boys, adolescents and young people, women and the elderly, those who have no reason whatsoever to be blamed.

The Old Testament speaks of archangels who were transformed into the enemies of God by ambition and who were sent to Hell. It is difficult to put aside the idea that the genes of some of those archangels are lurking in Bush’s head.

Today is Saturday. It is a slow day for political news. Reporters are resting.

Bush in Heaven (Part 1)
Related to country: United States

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Reflections of Fidel:

IN this reflection I will go by news received from different sources, including international cable services, –without specifically recognizing any of them as the information source, but strictly abiding by the text of the news-- books, documents, the Internet, and even questions asked to well-informed sources.

There is a big hustle and bustle everywhere, as if we lived in a madhouse. Our very well-known characters continue on their hectic tour.

After visiting Brazil and Chile, Condoleezza flew to Moscow to sound out the new President. She wants to know his mind. She traveled with the chief of the Pentagon. With a dislocated arm after a fall in February, he said: "With a broken arm, I won't be nearly as difficult a negotiator." A typically Yankee joke. You may figure out the effect this had on the proud ears of a Russian, whose people suffered the loss of so many millions of lives in their struggle against the Nazi hordes that were claiming vital space –what today would be called cheap oil, raw materials and guaranteed markets for surplus goods.

We have known of the adventures of McCain and Cheney in Baghdad; one of them hopes to become head of government, and the other, being already deputy head of government, issues more orders than his boss. They met them with the most unexpected and violent predictions. They devoted no more than two days to that, but enough time to flood the world with sinister forecasts.

Bush was delivering speeches in Washington while the prices of gold and oil were sky-rocketing.

Cheney didn’t stop. He took off for the Sultanate of Oman -774,000 oil barrels per day in 2005 and 780,000 in 2004. Last year Oman revealed its plans to invest $10 billion during the next five years to increase its oil production to 900,000 barrels per day and reach the figure of 70 to 80 million cubic meters of gas per day. This is what the Sultanate authorities reported on January 15, 2007.

Cheney, accompanied by his family, went sailing on of the Sultan’s yacht Kingfish I" to fish in the limits of the maritime boundaries between Oman and Iran. What temerity! Nobel prizes should also be given to those super-brave persons who run the risk of death or mutilation after a sumptuous private lunch with a fishbone stuck in their throat. The absence of the owner of the luxurious yacht spoiled the hero’s party.

McCain isn’t stopping either. He jumped into a helicopter to tour the territory where the Israeli soldiers, while chasing Palestinian leaders, continue to kill women, children, adolescents and youth in the West Bank with their sophisticated technical means. The Republican candidate is an expert on that.

He traveled to Jerusalem and there promised to be the first to recognize that whole city as the capital of Israel, which the United States and Europe has converted into a sophisticated nuclear power, whose satellite-guided missiles could fall in Moscow, more than 5,000 kilometers away, in a matter of minutes.

There will be no oil- or gas-producing state left unvisited by Cheney before he returns to attest to the happiness of the world before the President of his country.

Bush, for one, speaks on the 17th for one reason, on the 18th for another, and on the 19th to mark the beginning of his fantastic war. Cuba, as may be expected, continues to be a target of his insults.

In the midst of the chaos created by the empire, wars become inseparable partners. The one in Iraq has now lasted for five years. Profound thinkers estimate that millions of people have been affected, and that its total cost is in the trillions. Four thousand regular soldiers have died, and for every one killed, 30 are injured in this type of war. White phosphorous and cluster bombs are the war’s daily bread. Anything goes, except for living.

Cheney and McCain are competing with one another, one as the creature’s father, and the other as its stepfather. They both meet with heads of State and make demands: oil and gas production should be increased; Yankee technology, Yankee supplies, and Yankee weapons from the Yankee military-industrial complex should be used; Yankee military bases should be authorized.

From Jerusalem, McCain hops over to London to talk with Gordon Brown. Before that, while speaking in Jordan, he makes a mistake and asserts that Iran, a Shiite country, is training Al Qaeda, a Sunni organization. It’s all the same to him; he doesn’t even apologize for his mistake.

Cheney hops over to Afghanistan. The war waged by NATO and the Yankees has turned the country into the world’s largest opium exporter. The USSR wore itself out and collapsed in a similar war. Bush launched his first military blow there, along with NATO.

They are doing all that needs to be done to convene two parallel meetings: one to discuss the fight on terrorism and a NATO meeting.

One thing is certain: Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary general, and Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, NATO’s top official, will meet with Hamid Karzai, president of Afghanistan on April 1, 2 and 3 in Bucharest to participate in the Trans-Atlantic Forum. At the same time, a conference convened by the GMF (German Marshall Fund, of the United States), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, and Chatham House will bring together a large number of strategists and politicians to address matters of vital interest for NATO. According to the GMF Chairman, the conference will be attended by nine Heads of State, 24 prime ministers and other ministers, and 40 presidents of research institutions from Europe and the Americas, comprising the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which dissolved Tito’s Yugoslavia and carried out the war in Kosovo. Anyone can understand that any similarity between its interests and those of Yankee imperialism is purely coincidental. The situation in the Balkans, the anti-missile defense system, the energy supply and weapons control are unavoidable issues.

Given that Bush needs to perform his role as the main character, he has already drafted his own schedule: he will be in the city of Neptun, on the Black Sea, to attend a meeting with Traian Basescu, President of Romania, on the eve of the conference. The fate of humankind which contributes surplus value and blood, are in those hands.

Tiger Woods Enthused About The Billion-dollar Albany Beach & Golf Resort Bahamas Project

Tiger Woods Enthused About Bahamas Project:
By Tameka Lundy -
Nassau, Bahamas:

Golf great Tiger Woods might have blown his chance of an eighth successive golf tournament victory this past weekend, but his partnership with Joe Lewis and Ernie Els is billed as the winning combination needed to successfully drive an exclusive resort styled community under construction in southwest New Providence.

Ground has already been broken on the billion-dollar Albany Beach & Golf Resort which developers project will inject roughly $2.7 billion into the economy of The Bahamas over a 15-year period. That money will primarily come from taxes and duties paid to the government, wages paid to employees and local expenditures.

The completed vision will showcase a 565-acre new development inclusive of a 50 to 60-room boutique hotel, 350 private residences, a golf course and marina and separate centres for horse riding, fitness and beach activities that dot the island’s southwestern shoreline.

Mr. Woods appeared enthused about the project when questioned about it in a recent CNBC interview on the sideline of a golf tournament in Orlando, despite his winning streak in golf coming to an end.

He called the Albany project a fantastic vision.

"We’ve just started construction. The marina is going well. The golf courses are coming in. We are going to have something for everybody basically. It’s going to be absolutely incredible," he said at the time.

The developers have projected that during the first stage of construction, $800 million will be pumped into the local economy, a financial injection that would be more than welcome considering the global economic slowdown and local jitters about its trickle down effects combined with other local realities.

The international financial climate has not been the best for many of the developers who were looking to take their massive projects around The Bahamas to the next level.

For instance, Eddie Lauth, the man pursuing the French Leave Resort in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera, told the Bahama Journal recently that with the collapse of the sub-prime market, the bottom essentially dropped out of a $200 million bond-issue that was being negotiated to build out the entire project at one time.

Even some of the bankers with which Mr. Lauth was dealing are no longer employed with the financial institution.

Across the waters on the quaint island of Mayaguana, the challenge has been a cooling off in the market for larger resort hotels that has translated into diminished interest in an alliance with the I-Group’s intended $1.8 billion development, according to Stephen Pritchard, executive vice president of the Mayaguana Management Company Limited.

The current state of the U.S. economy has also affected Tiger Woods’ business partner Joe Lewis who is reported to have lost big in the demise of a US bank.

American and British newspapers have reported that Mr. Lewis lost an estimated $800 million in the collapse of the investment bank Bear Stearns.

He was reportedly the second largest shareholder in the bank.

Mr. Lewis also founded The Tavistock Group, which owns exclusive residential club communities, financial services, oil and gas investments and retail companies. The elite Old Fort Bay club here in New Providence is also in that portfolio.

Principals of the development company have dismissed concerns about the reported Bear Stearns loss having an adverse impact on the commitments made for the Albany Beach & Golf Resort.

And when he spoke about the plans in his recent interview, Mr. Woods gave no indication that it would.

"It is going to be absolutely incredible…" he said of the investment.

"The place…it is hard to describe the beauty of it. We are going to have something modern. We are going to have classical buildings. We’re going to have it all. It is going to be this great blend of this all inclusive area."

The government has said that it is certain the development is in this country’s best interest and together with the other massive project planned adjacent to it – the new South Ocean resort – will help to transfer the island’s entire southwest for the better.

Over the next 15 years the project is expected to produce stamp tax paid on the transfer of property, import duty paid on materials brought in for residential construction and property taxes amounting to roughly $550 million; $1.1 billion in salaries; over $660 million in revenue for area businesses; over $200 million in commissions; and $100 million in revenue from promotions.

Currently, less than $400,000 in tax revenue is generated by Albany’s land holdings.

The company has projected that a guest staying in a hotel would spend around $3,000 for a one-week stay whereas a homeowner would spend around $75,000 per year maintaining the home.

Over the next 10 years the project is anticipated to employ between a minimum of 600 and a maximum of 1,000 construction workers every year.

"Good Friday was the greatest act of a loving heavenly father expressing his love for his image in each man - and paying the ultimate price to redeem us from our own folly."
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Why Jesus had to die:
By SHAVAUGHN MOSS, Special Sections Editor -
Nassau, Bahamas:

Jesus was not killed, but rather decided to die in order to keep the integrity of his word to himself, and destroy the stain and power of sin in every man's life, according to Bahamas Faith Ministries senior pastor Dr Myles Munroe.

And that he said is the joy of the Easter message and cause for all men everywhere in every nation and race to have hope.

"Good Friday was the greatest act of a loving heavenly father expressing his love for his image in each man and paying the ultimate price to redeem us from our own folly."

Munroe says the death of Jesus was not, and must not be considered an act of suicide, because the notion of suicide is always motivated by an individual's response to personal distress, frustration, hopelessness and depression. He says the death of Jesus was completely opposite in nature, and was rather initiated to relieve others from stress, and give us all hope for life and beyond the grave.

"His resurrection from the dead guaranteed our hope that we to will win over the greatest enemy of mankind, death itself."

"Easter is also a reminder, that of all the religions of the world, the Christian faith is the only faith in which the founder personally and willfully died and shed his blood on the cross for His followers and assures them of a bodily resurrection by his own. Good Friday is not a day for Christians," he said, "but for the whole world and all humanity. This is the joy of the Easter message and cause for all men everywhere in every nation and race to have hope. He was not killed. He decided to die in our place in order to keep the integrity of His word to himself and destroy the stain and power of sin in every man's life."

Munroe said that in light of the unacceptable rate of violent crimes in the country, the cry for justice and safety continues to rise, and that one of the major points of controversy is the cry for the death penalty, with many on death row awaiting their day of doom.

"As I thought about this situation and the season we are in called Easter, I also realized that mankind as an entire species was rendered guilty of ultimate crime and sentenced to death by the judge of the universe in the court of eternity for the crime of treason. This judgment is detailed in the words of the creator in Genesis 2: 'The day you eat from this tree you will surely die'. In essence, mankind was placed on death row after violating the law of God and condemned to die. This is the heart of the story of Good Friday."

"It was the day the divine king of heaven decided to come down to the prison of earth and walk into death row, and sat in the electric chair or the noose from around the necks of humanity and placed it around His neck. He took us from the table of death and lay Himself down and took the needle for us all. In fact the death of Jesus Christ was the greatest act of substitution in history and made is possible for all mankind to go free from the penalty of death. The heart of Easter is that no man took His life, but Jesus freely laid it down in our place."

Munroe said the controversial movie "The Passion of the Christ" by famed actor and producer, Mel Gibson, stirred the fires of a global discussion in response to his block-buster icon movie.

"Months after its release, the world-wide media joined in the debate. One of the major points of contention was the implication derived by many from the movie that the Jews were presented as the principle cause and instigators of the death of Jesus Christ. It was felt that this group of people was magnified as the culprits and the Roman government authorities were simply the mechanism used to execute their desires."

Munroe says this argument has been perpetrated for hundreds of years and in some cases, at different times in history, has been used by the Christian church to justify an antagonistic attitude toward the Jewish people.

"As I sat for days listening to the media with their numerous guests, some claiming to be experts in the subjects, and others with no clue to the gravity of the issue, tried to answer and explain a divine activity from intellectual finite concepts. I was amazed at some of the religious leaders who were drawn into the argument with little more to add than commentary on the words of those who were already confused."

Munroe says over the years in his search for the truth when it comes to biblical questions that the answers are always contained within the Bible itself, and that it is no different with this question of who really killed Jesus.

"As we celebrate this holy season of Easter, the thoughts of the global community of millions of Christians and others focus on this critical story and records the events of this week 2,000 years ago. There is no event in history that is the topic of more mystery, confusion, discussion, and argument than the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, in order to answer the question, "Who killed Jesus?" it is more important to question the question."

"It is my contention that the question itself is not the correct question, because the issue is, "was he killed?". According to the scriptures and all the prophecies and declaration of Jesus Christ himself, it is my conclusion and also the biblical declaration that Jesus was not killed by man or any one human entity."

It is Munroe's contention that "Good Friday", occurred long before the creation of man and as a result, mankind could not be responsible for the death of Jesus.

Scriptures that speak for themselves:

Rev 13:8-9 — 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. — KJV

Isa 53:4-5 — 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. — KJV

Isa 53:10-54:1 —10 But the Lord was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.

11— As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors. — NAS

"A careful review of these scriptural texts will show clearly that the death of Jesus Christ, was not the result of a carefully devised human scheme or concoction, but was a deliberate pre-destined, pre-determined divine decision by the creator in his redemptive program to restore all mankind to his perfect will. Note particularly these statements: 'Smitten of God' or, "The Lord was pleased to crush Him, putting him to grief", and 'Yet He himself bore our sin..."

"Thus we see that God takes responsibility for the death and suffering of Jesus Christ for the benefit of the Jews, the Romans and all mankind including every Bahamian in the nation today."

"The words of Jesus himself sum it all up when he states;

John 10:17-19 — 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father. — NIV What a wonderful truth and divine relief that no man killed Jesus, but rather, the incalculable love of the heavenly Father that created us in his image, to the proactive choice and divine prerogative to kill himself in order to save our lives from the destructive impact of our rebellion against him. This word rebellion is the Hebrew word we translate as sin. Good Friday is about this very issue of sin. The Old Testament scriptures of Leviticus, which is also included in the Jewish scriptures and the Islamic Koran, declare that the atonement for Sin is only possible by the shedding of blood.

"Lev 17:11 —11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. — NIV

(Heb 9:22) 22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. — NIV"

Coroners Inquest Bahamas: The father of Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, Dannielynnn – was questioned extensively about "personally" witnessing Anna Nicole, her attorney turned boyfriend Howard K. Stern and Daniel smoke marijuana

Birkhead Tells Of Daniel Smith’s Alleged Drug Use:
By TOSHEENA ROBINSON-BLAIR -
Nassau, Bahamas:

A Coroner’s Inquest into the death of Daniel Smith – the son of the late U.S. reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith – yesterday heard how the former Playboy playmate allegedly gave her son illegal drugs.

On the witness stand Monday, Larry Birkhead – the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s 18-month-old daughter, Dannielynnn – was questioned extensively about his January 24, 2007, police statement in which he reported "personally" witnessing Anna Nicole, her attorney turned boyfriend Howard K. Stern and Daniel smoke marijuana.

In that statement, Mr. Birkhead said Anna Nicole was addicted to methadone, and that he had "personally observed" Daniel using the drug Ecstasy.

However, Mr. Stern’s attorney Wayne Munroe argued that Mr. Birkhead’s police statement was given at a time when he was involved in litigation with Anna Nicole.

At the time the couple was engaged in a paternity and custody battle over baby Danielynn.

Mr. Birkhead said he was at Anna Nicole’s home in Studio City, California, when he saw her give Daniel a pill that he put into his mouth.

Mr. Birkhead said someone told him that the pill was Ecstasy.

He was never asked the identity of that "someone."

On the witness stand Monday, Mr. Birkhead said he remembered Anna Nicole telling Daniel that if he were going to experiment with drugs "she would rather him do it in her presence rather than running around experimenting with his friends."

The witness told the court that Anna Nicole, whose real name was Vicky Lynn Marshall, became concerned about her son in early 2006.

"She didn’t care for the kids he was hanging out with at the community college he attended," Mr. Birkhead testified.

"He started breaking curfew and the rules of the house, so there was a little tension there…She suspected he was drinking alcohol and possibly doing drugs."

Under questioning by Milton Evans, the attorney representing the interest of Daniel Smith’s father, Jesse, and his maternal grandmother Virgie Arthur, Mr. Birkhead said he could not recall the year of the marijuana incident. He thought it likely happened in either 2005 or 2006.

While on the witness stand, Mr. Birkhead said he remembered marijuana being there, but could not recall if the three in question – Daniel, Anna Nicole and Stern, actually used it.

On another occasion, Mr. Birkhead said he had a back pain and Anna Nicole offered him a pill, which she said was methadone. He said she had also offered him Ecstasy before.

Continuing with his testimony, Mr. Birkhead said in 2006, Daniel had lost about 20 pounds. Concerned over his welfare, Anna Nicole asked him to talk to her son, which Mr. Birkhead said he was reluctant to do.

He said it was a job that Mr. Stern was more likely to take on if he were around, but he was busy dealing with a legal matter.

Mr. Birkhead said he finally acquiesced and Daniel told him that he wanted to get his own place, because his mother did not like any of his friends.

The witness also told the court about an occasion where Anna Nicole believed her son had stolen a bottle of her methadone medication.

He said although Daniel had denied taking the bottle sometime in April 2006, his mother did not believe him and checked the home’s security tape where he was shown taking the bottle. There were two friends with him at the time, Mr. Birkhead testified.

Mr. Evans suggested to the witness that Daniel swiped the bottle to prevent his mother from taking the prescription medication, in an action similar to what Birkhead himself had admitted to doing.

Mr. Birkhead also alleged that Anna Nicole was hospitalized in Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles in May 2006 in order to "get off of methadone."

However, Wayne Munroe – the attorney for Mr. Stern – told the court that Anna Nicole was receiving treatment for her migraine headaches.

Mr. Birkhead also testified that he saw a bottle of methadone in a duffle bag in Anna Nicole’s hospital room’s closet. He said at one time he saw Mr. Stern give her that same duffle bag.

South Carolina real estate developer, Ford Shelley, previously told the court that Anna Nicole had the methadone drug in both the tablet and liquid form and that she traveled with a Coach duffle bag filled with her "medication."

Dr Lee Hern of the Medical Examiner’s Office in Miami Dade County also previously testified that methadone likely caused Daniel’s death. He said it was likely an "intentional ingestion" as it was a large dose consumed over a short period of time.

Two toxicology reports – one produced by Dr Hern’s office – indicated that Daniel had a combination of eight drugs in his system – a mixture of anti-depressants and stimulants.

Daniel Smith died in his mother’s Doctors Hospital room on September 10, 2006 – three days after she had given birth to his sister, Dannielynn.

Mr. Birkhead told the court that he was concerned about the amount of prescription drugs that Anna Nicole took because she was pregnant with his baby at the time.

The inquest resumes today.

Neil Braithwaite, senior counsel in the Attorney General’s office wants to call two more witnesses to the stand – Melanie Thompson and private investigator Jack Harding – before wrapping up with Mr. Stern.

In court Monday, Mr. Braithwaite said Harding was contacted but did not return the AG’s office calls, while Ms Thompson’s family attorney was advised about the adjourn date.

Since the remaining witnesses are out of the court’s jurisdiction, they cannot be compelled to attend the proceedings.

Magistrate William Campbell has said that Stern – who will be recalled to the witness stand – needs to testify last because he is "the only interested party."

The remaining witnesses are not being called to assist in determining Daniel’s cause of death, but rather the circumstances surrounding his demise.
