PETITION
TO:
HIS EXCELLENCY
THE GOVERNOR GENERAL
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!
WHEREAS Article 32 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas states that “there shall be a Governor General who shall be appointed by Her Majesty and shall hold office during Her Majesty’s pleasure and shall be Her Majesty’s representative in The Bahamas AND WHEREAS Article 38 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas states that “there shall be a Parliament of The Bahamas which shall consist of Her Majesty, a Senate and a House of Assembly”.
NOW KNOW YE THEREFORE THAT Your Petitioners are conscious of His Excellency’s history as is well documented throughout the region for your firm and passionate stand on matters of integrity in public affairs and transparent conduct of the people's business and His Excellency is further qualified by Your selfless, decent and courageous political stand in

1984 when Your Excellency refused to bow down or to be a drum major for wrong doing in Your Excellency’s own political organization but chose rather to step aside, resign and called on all right thinking Bahamians to put the interest of the country and the nation above that of self. That Your Excellency shall forever remain in our consciousness as a True Patriot and a Bastion of Integrity.
Now know Ye therefore that the Workers Party on behalf of concerned patriotic Bahamians everywhere is compelled to approach and Petition His Excellency in Her Majesty’s name for advice, guidance and direction on the grant of Permanent Residency to one Vicki Lane Harris also known as Anna Nicole Smith (hereinafter called "The Undesirable”) by the Department of
Immigration acting on the advice of the Immigration Board and fraudulently influenced and misled by The Honourable Shane S. Gibson, Minister for Labour and Immigration (hereinafter called "The Salesman”) and an avowed friend of "The Undesirable”.
It has been brought patently clear to the Bahamian people that such controversy and legal entanglements are involved and continue to evolve out of the said grant of Permanent Residency in this issue that the Government should be honourable enough and duty bound to respect its own flawed public policy and admit it has acted out of turn and without merit and

immediately rescind the grant of Permanent Residency.
Further more complicating this matter the Government in its suspicious haste to grant this Permanent Residency was so deficient that they did not collect the Stamp Taxes on the conveyance as are required by law before they could even judiciously take note of the documents upon which they acted to so make this grant.
The Right Honourable Prime Minister has further insulted the Bahamian people by taunting us with the refrain "like it or lump it" as if the issuance of Permanent Residency is the personal dogma of his Government and the Bahamian people have no
legitimate right to enquire into and how the process works or whosoever is granted such right in The Bahamas and more so as in this particular case where it appears that due process was not followed, proper and due diligence was ignored and what may very well have been a personal decision for "The Salesman" was the root of the suspicious grant.
Permanent Residency in our opinion is the second highest award this country can give to a non Bahamian save for and except that of Citizenship and never before in the history of The Bahamas has such controversy been implied to Permanent Residency.

In this particular case "The Salesman” refused to acknowledge that "The Undesirable” was not a fit and proper person to receive such consideration.
His Excellency would no doubt be aware that before the Magistrate's Court in The Bahamas just last week a number of women were charged for indecent exposure and displaying parts of their anatomy in a forum which may not be in keeping with our laws .
The question that begs answer of the Right Honourable Prime Minister and "The Salesman” is how can they reconcile such laws on the Statute Books of The Bahamas when “The Undesirable” is uniquely qualified in this area. When one reviews the legal arguments now before the Supreme Courts for a decision on the true and rightful beneficial owner of the house now occupied by "The Undesirable” which was used as the basis for the grant of Permanent Residency it is an elementary conclusion that the Immigration Board was misled and the facts misrepresented to them in order to reach their conclusion.
The Right Honourable Prime Minister has permanently and continuously proven to be less than candid with the truth when it relates to his colleagues and their crude behaviour in public office and with his egregious insult that the Bahamian people "like it or lump it " he has shown a callous disregard for public
5
accountability and transparency in public affairs.
When the Leader of the Government and Country says to the people that they can "like it or lump it" because his Government did not collect the stamp taxes as required by law and public policy before they review or even consider a Conveyance for Real Estate, and when serious conflicts arise as to the veracity of the ownership of a house which was used to qualify an applicant for Permanent Residency then the democracy is in danger.
Now therefore the Workers Party beseeches His Excellency to demand from the Right Honourable Prime Minister a sincere and humble apology to The Bahamian people and a full and complete withdrawal of his insult that we the people "like it or lump it" and that the Right Honourable Prime Minister do advise the Immigration Board that the Permanent Residency as issued to "The Undesirable” do now stand revoked until full and complete resolution of the substantive ownership issues before the Supreme Court.
For the Permanent Residency issuance to remain in place would be to frustrate and intimidate an already forlorn and jaundiced Court.
Further that the Right Honourable Prime Minister recognize and admit that Shane S. Gibson has brought shame scandal ridicule and
6
public odium to the country and the nation and by his actions has demonstrated to the world that we are open to harlotry and pornography disguised as celebrity.
Therefore the Right Honourable Prime Minister who seems incapable of disciplining certain wrong doers but is energized to victimize the powerless and penniless should come clean to the Bahamian people and dismiss forthwith "The Salesman”.
The Workers Party therefore Petitions His Excellency in Her Majesty’s name to save the nation and its institutions once again from weak and compromised leadership and further decay and defamation and destruction of integrity in public affairs.
